Tarot 101: The Complete Basics

This six week course teaches all 78 cards in the Tarot. We will cover asking questions effectively and how the cards dialog with one another, like people, to tell the stories we are seeking to understand. This course will assist you in uncvering your personal narrative in the Tarot story to form a solid and memorable grasp of the meanings of the cards and their moods. Each workshop contains demonstrations of working sessions with friends and clients, and journaling for self discovery. This course is perfect for beginners, those brushing up, and those seeking new perspective and fellowship. See you there!

Letters To The Known World: Writing The Future From The World We Leave
(Six Week Writing Course)

How do we imagine beyond who we have been? If we place the future at the center of the stories we are writing and telling, will we see ourselves ahead in time? How do we tell the stories that will eventually become the answer to the question: What Happened?

We will use letter writing, dialogue, and monolog writing as a tool to discover the deeper roots within our stories and characters and to uncover the goals we are writing into the bones of our text.

This workshop is for writers and storytellers working in any medium or genre that uses characters and symbols to tell stories. There will be opportunity to read or perform work, but will not be expected. This workshop is primarily generative and seeks to create ‘support writing’ that will add levels of depth, focus, and perspective to the stories you write and the stories you tell. Bring your notebook, your pen, and your willingness. Let’s work it out.

Writing For Life: Developing A Compass In Our Times
(Six Week Writing Workshop)

This workshop makes space for the open development of a narrative of the self that is both meaningful and compact enough to make a foundation for powerful writing that grapples with the most complicated personal, universal, and structural matters of our times. There will be feelings and talk of feelings in this workshop.

This course is for writers of poetry, fiction, cross medium, the screenplay, and performative writing. These workshops build on one another with a focus on the development of the strength of each writer. This work is spiritual, psychological, practical,  potentially tactical, and definitively magical. Workshops are discussion and lecture heavy with time to share work.

The intimacy of this workshop allows for a variance of experience among participants. It is your passion for and commitment to putting words on paper that is of importance in this workshop. This is the right workshop to learn a language for the craft of writing if you do not have that language or a good place to brush up on that language. If you are seeking a style or re evaluating a style, this is the right workshop.

Sessions That Shift: Taking Clients, Doing Work

We will talk about shifting energies and prespectives within those we work with and within ourselves, acting as witness, solidarity healing, and power of 'being'. We will also cover basic tools for de-escalating emotionally 'triggered' clients, checking our own motivations, and making a committment to gaining continuous consent from our friends and clients. This workshop is for anyone living among people, but bring your cards if you got 'em. Two Hour Workshop

Wrong Side Up: Tarot Reversals

Do you read reversals? Would you like to add it to your skills or deepen your understanding of the dynamics of reversals? The reversal is not an opposite, but a mood, a quality of character, and often something to be ignored or cast in a new light. Come out for an evening of discussion and nuance. Seriously, you must love nuance.  Two hour workshop.

Making Flash Fiction With Tarot

Bring your Tarot deck and your favorite writing tools and come out for a fun and fast paced night. We will create and share as many 50 word stories as we have time to write. We will partner off to write some dramas, and then play some word games to make comedies. This is a night to blow off steam, have some laughs, and let your creativity do the healing! Come out, bring your deck, bring a snack. Two hour workshop.

Performance for Writers

Reading your work is a performance and performance is a skill and skills are made of techniques. We will discuss strategies for handling nervousness and overcoming problems that happen once on stage. You will learn ways to ‘own the mic’, ‘take up the stage’, and ‘use the space’ in room to create the highest advantage for yourself in capturing and endearing audiences of all sizes. Bring three excerpts of writing that are three minutes in length each. If possible bring a range or emotion or purpose in your excerpts, but don’t overthink it. Bring a pen and a notebook and your willingness to share your courage with the rest of us.
